Here is the advisory following the European Commission’s notice to .eu stakeholders (published on 28 March 2018, updated on 18 July 2019 and 31 January 2020) concerning the impact of the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union on .eu domain names registered to registrants under a GB/GI country code[1]), and Brick technology's emails last year we wish to inform you of the following:
- As of today, 1 January 2021, your domain name(s) are no longer in compliance with the .eu regulatory framework and have moved to the SUSPENDED status until 31 March 2021. Any service associated to a domain name in this status no longer functions. The domain name(s) may still be reinstated if your registration data is updated to meet the eligibility criteria.
- As of 1 April 2021, your domain name(s) that are still not in compliance with the .eu regulatory framework will be WITHDRAWN. Their records will remain in the .eu registry database and can be reinstated until 31 December 2021.
- You have the opportunity to demonstrate your compliance with the .eu regulatory framework by updating your contact data (e.g. indicating a legally established entity in, or updating the residence to, one of the eligible EU27 or EEA Member States, or demonstrating your citizenship of one of the EU27 Member States) before 31 December 2021, 23:59:59 CET. Please contact your registrar (the company through which you registered the domain names) for detailed information on the registration terms of your domain name(s) and possible update of your registration data.
- As of 1 January 2022, if you have not demonstrated your eligibility within the .eu regulatory framework, your domain name(s) will be REVOKED and will become AVAILABLE again for general registration.
